Rural Housing Solutions Introduction

In many areas of rural Britain,  there is an in-balance between the demand and supply of housing. First time buyers, pensioners, the young and the low paid are forced from their communities leading to its decline. Schools, pubs and shops close, transport deteriorates and families are divided.

Cascade Rural Housing Solutions Ltd is rolling out a programme to deliver rural affordable housing throughout the United Kingdom. There are currently 200 units in the development programme. Typical schemes range in size between 6 and 30 homes. All schemes require a proportion of shared ownership or intermediate rented units to cross subsidise the rented properties, although innovative funding methods that incorporate a form of Community Land Trust are also available,  should  Housing Corporation grant be unavailable at economic rates or within a suitable timescale.

Cascade will seek independent confirmation of need, provide a funding solution, acquire the site, obtain planning consent, construct the homes and hand them over to either a registered social landlord or the local community.
