Where Housing Corporation funding is used, the units are constructed to the relevant quality. Currently this includes BREEAM level 3 or 4.

Where alternative funding is used there is always a will to equal or improve upon environmental quality standards.

All materials are sourced locally where possible and carbon emissions are assessed for the major materials such as bricks, tiles, frame etc. A reduced emissions rating is always chosen where there is not an over riding economic argument.

Sustainable locations are preferred close to public transport and nearby facilities such as a shop and a school. We try to ensure the schemes are mixed tenure to encourage social cohesion.
